Players To Watch in 2022 – Professional Squash Association – PSA World Tour

Aly Abou Eleinen

The talent that Egypt have been able to produce over the previous 15 years has been mightily impressive and it seems they have done it once more with Aly Abou Eleinen.

The 21-year-old has had a meteoric rise through the rankings in 2021. Moving from World No.310 to No.87 in just 12 months, and more impressively, in only 25 matches.

The Egyptian featured in the El Gouna International Squash Open as a wildcard and put up a tough fight against World No.17 Youssef Soliman, losing out 12-10, 14-12, 3-11, 11-8 in 80 minutes.

Abou Eleinen’s best result of 2021 came at the South State Marietta Open where he scalped two higher seeds, Leonel Cardenas from Mexico and Scotland’s Alan Clyne, to reach the 20k final. He eventually say his run come to an end against fellow rising star Victor Crouin.

2022 is sure to be the year that the young Egyptian not only wins his first PSA title but starts to trouble the higher ranked players on the PSA World Tour.
